Method
Taco Filling Preparation
- 1
Sauté Onion and Garlic
In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil. Once hot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- 2
Cook the Ground Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- 3
Season the Meat
Drain excess fat if necessary. Stir in the taco seasoning, tomato sauce, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the mixture is heated through and slightly thickened.
Taco Assembly
- 4
Warm the Tortillas
In a separate skillet or directly over the flame, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side or until pliable.
- 5
Assemble the Tacos
Take a warm tortilla and place a generous spoonful of the beef filling in the center. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños as desired.
- 6
Serve
Repeat the assembly process with the remaining tortillas and filling. Serve immediately with extra toppings on the side.
