Method

Preparing the Pork

  1. 1

    Seasoning the Pork

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Rub the mixture all over the pork shoulder.

  2. 2

    Cooking the Pork

Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Making the Sauce

  1. 3

    Mixing the Sauce

In a separate bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and honey. Mix well and set aside.

Assembling the Sandwiches

  1. 4

    Shredding the Pork

Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.

  2. 5

    Combining with Sauce

Mix the shredded pork with the prepared BBQ sauce until evenly coated.

  3. 6

    Building the Sandwich

Toast the hamburger buns lightly. Place a generous amount of the pulled pork mixture on the bottom half of each bun. Top with coleslaw and pickles before placing the top half of the bun.
