Method
Preparation of Patties
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the Black Angus ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Use your hands to mix until the ingredients are well combined but do not overmix.
- 2
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about 3/4-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.
Cooking the Patties
- 3
Preheat Grill
Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Make sure it is well-oiled to prevent sticking.
- 4
Grill Patties
Place the formed patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (medium-rare is about 130°F, medium is about 140°F).
- 5
Add Cheese (Optional)
If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking, close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
