Method

Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Brisket

In a bowl, mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Rub the mixture all over the beef brisket evenly.

  2. 2

    Sear the Brisket

In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned brisket and sear it on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

  3. 3

    Add Liquid and Simmer

Pour in the beef broth, cover the pot, and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for 3-4 hours or until the brisket is fork-tender.

  4. 4

    Shred the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for 10 minutes. Shred the brisket with two forks, discarding any excess fat.

Taco Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare Tortillas

Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 6

    Assemble Tacos

Place a generous amount of shredded brisket on each tortilla. Top with fresh cilantro, a dollop of sour cream, and your choice of salsa.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
