Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under it and pulling it off. This will allow the flavors to penetrate the meat better.
- 2
Make the Dry Rub
In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
- 3
Rub the Ribs
Generously coat the ribs with the dry rub, ensuring it's evenly distributed. Wrap the ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Cooking
- 4
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- 5
Cook the Ribs
Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover with another piece of foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.
- 6
Prepare the Barbecue Sauce
In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
- 7
- 8
Finish Cooking
Return the ribs to the oven uncovered for another 15-20 minutes, until the sauce caramelizes and the ribs develop a nice glaze.
Serving
- 9
Slice and Serve
Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
