Preparation

1

Prepare the Ingredients

Slice the mushrooms and onion. Mince the garlic cloves.

2

Prepare the Meat

If using steak, slice it into thin strips. If using shrimp, peel and devein them.

Cooking

3

Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and garlic, and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.

4

Add Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender.

5

Cook the Meat

Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the sliced steak or shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through. If using shrimp, they should turn pink and opaque.

6

Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the chili powder, cayenne pepper, soy sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper.

7

Combine Everything

Pour the sauce over the meat and vegetable mixture in the skillet. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce is heated through.
