Prepare the Beef Patty
In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form the mixture into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook the Patty
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add the beef patty and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness.

Toast the Bun
While the patty is cooking, slice the burger bun in half. Place the cut side down in the skillet for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown and toasted.

Assemble the Burger
Once the patty is cooked to your liking, place it on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Add any desired toppings (lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc.) and cover with the top half of the bun.
