Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix the Batter

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, whole eggs, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined. Slowly add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring gently. Gradually fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined.

  4. 4

    Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cakes

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let the cakes sit for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate to release the cake. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
