For the Tiramisu
Method
Preparing the Tiramisu
- 1
Brew the Coffee
Brew a strong cup of coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature. If using coffee liqueur, mix it with the coffee once it’s cooled.
- 2
Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- 3
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- 4
Soak the Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 5
Layer the Tiramisu
In a rectangular dish, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 6
Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
