Ginger-Soy Dipping Sauce

Wasabi Dipping Sauce

Method

Preparation of Tuna

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna Steaks

Ensure the tuna steaks are sushi-grade. Pat them dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  3. 3

    Sear the Tuna

Carefully place the tuna steaks in the hot skillet. Sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the outside is golden brown but the inside remains rare.

  4. 4

    Rest the Tuna

Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing.

Ginger-Soy Dipping Sauce

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, grated ginger, honey, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Whisk together until well blended.

Wasabi Dipping Sauce

  1. 6

    Prepare Wasabi Sauce

In another small bowl, mix the wasabi paste with water until smooth and well combined.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

Slice the rested tuna steaks into thin strips. Arrange them on a plate and serve with the ginger-soy dipping sauce and wasabi sauce on the side.
