Preparing the Chicken

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Season the Chicken
In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, fresh rosemary, and fresh thyme. Rub this mixture all over the boneless half chicken, ensuring it is evenly coated.

Roast the Chicken
Place the seasoned chicken in a roasting pan, skin side up. Roast in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is golden brown.
Making the BBQ Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Simmer the Sauce
Stir the mixture and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.
Serving

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. Slice the chicken and serve with the homemade BBQ sauce on the side.
