Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water and then drain the linguine in a colander. Set aside.

Melt the Butter
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it’s completely liquid.

Add Cream and Garlic
Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the saucepan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.

Incorporate Cheese
Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce, stirring constantly until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Season the Sauce
Add black pepper and a pinch of nutmeg to the sauce. Mix well and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
