Ranch Dressing

Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cutting the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into fry shapes, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soaking the Fries

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps in achieving crispiness.

  3. 3

    Preheating the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  4. 4

    Seasoning the Fries

Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a paper towel. In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, thyme, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

  5. 5

    Baking the Fries

Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Making the Ranch Dressing

  1. 6

    Combining Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, garlic powder, and dried dill.

  2. 7

    Mixing the Dressing

Whisk the mixture until smooth and well combined. Add salt to taste.

  3. 8

    Chilling the Dressing

Cover and refrigerate the ranch dressing for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plating the Dish

Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Serve the hot fries with a side of chilled ranch dressing for dipping.
