Method

Prepare the Patty

1

Mix the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until fully combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

2

Form the Patty

Divide the mixture into equal parts and shape each into a round patty about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook the Patty

3

Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

4

Cook the Patty

Place the beef patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

5

Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover to melt.

Prepare the Bun

6

Butter the Bun

Spread butter on the cut side of the hamburger bun.

7

Toast the Bun

Place the bun butter-side down on the grill or skillet for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Assemble the Cheeseburger

8

Build the Burger

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, layer the lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, then add tomato slices and pickles.

9

Top it Off

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled ingredients.
