Sandwich Assembly

Method

Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Rub the beef brisket generously with the brisket rub, ensuring it is evenly coated. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Add the smoking wood chips to the smoker box or directly on the coals.

  3. 3

    Smoke the Brisket

Place the brisket in the smoker, fat side up. Smoke for approximately 1.5 hours per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  4. 4

    Rest the Brisket

Once done, remove the brisket from the smoker, wrap it in foil, and let it rest for about 30 minutes before slicing.

BBQ Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir and let simmer for about 10 minutes.

Coleslaw Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrot. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and mix well. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the smoked brisket into thin slices. Place a generous portion of brisket on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with BBQ sauce and a scoop of coleslaw. Place the top half of the bun on and serve.
