Mango Mousse Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Gelatin
In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it blooms.
- 2
Blend the Mangoes
Peel and chop the mangoes into small pieces. In a blender or food processor, combine the mango pieces with granulated sugar and blend until smooth.
- 3
Heat the Gelatin
In a microwave or small saucepan, gently heat the bloomed gelatin until it is fully dissolved. Be careful not to boil it.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Add the dissolved gelatin and vanilla extract to the mango puree and mix well. Stir in a pinch of salt.
- 5
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mango mixture until fully incorporated.
- 6
Chill
Divide the mousse mixture into serving cups or bowls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
Whipped Cream Topping Preparation
- 7
Prepare the Whipped Cream
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until stiff peaks form.
- 8
Top the Mousse
Once the mango mousse is set, remove it from the refrigerator and dollop the whipped cream on top of each serving.
