Preparation of Ingredients
Chop Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
Prepare Basil
Tear the fresh basil leaves into smaller pieces and add them to the bowl with tomatoes.
Mince Garlic
Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves before adding them to the bowl.
Season Topping
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to taste into the tomato mixture and stir well to combine.
Toasting the Bread
Slice the Bread
Cut the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2-inch thick slices.
Toast the Bread
Preheat a grill or oven to medium heat. Place the bread slices on the grill or a baking sheet and toast for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Assembling Bruschetta
Top the Toasts
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice.
Serve
Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm. Enjoy!
