Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Kokum

Soak the kokum pieces in warm water for about 15 minutes to soften them, then drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Base

In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

  3. 3

    Add Aromatics

Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, green chilies, curry leaves, and fenugreek seeds. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

  4. 4

    Add Spices

Add turmeric powder and salt, mixing well to combine all the ingredients.

  5. 5

    Incorporate Coconut Milk

Pour in the coconut milk and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

  6. 6

    Add Fish and Kokum

Gently add the fish fillets and softened kokum to the pan. Cook for about 10 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.

  7. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
