Petit Fours Ingredients
Method
Petit Fours Directions
- 1
Prepare the Cake Batter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- 2
Combine Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, and mix until just combined.
- 3
Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
- 4
Cut the Cake
Once the cake has cooled, cut it into small squares (about 1 inch). You can also use cookie cutters for different shapes.

- 6
Coat the Petit Fours
Dip each cake square into the icing, letting any excess drip off. Alternatively, you can coat them in chocolate ganache or fondant. Allow to set on a wire rack.
- 7
Serve
Once the icing has set, the petit fours are ready to be served with tea or coffee.
