Prepare the Salt Cod Croquettes
Soak the salt cod in water for 24 hours, changing the water every 8 hours. Drain and rinse the cod, then steam it until cooked through.

Make the Croquette Mixture
In a mixing bowl, mash the potatoes and add the steamed salt cod, garlic (minced), egg, salt, and pepper. Form this mixture into small patties and coat each in breadcrumbs.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the croquettes until golden brown on all sides. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
