For the Chocolate Fondant
Method
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F). Grease and flour four ramekins.
- 2
Melt the Chocolate and Butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Mix the Sugar and Eggs
In a separate bowl, whisk the granulated sugar and large eggs together until pale and fluffy.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined.
- 5
Fill the Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 6
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert the ramekins onto serving plates. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
