Our Brazilian Feijoada is a delicious stew of salted meats (pork & beef) and black beans that is traditionally served over rice with fresh orange slices, farofa, collard greens, and pork cracklings.

Prepare the Beans
Rinse the black beans under cold water and soak them overnight in a large bowl of water.

Add Sausage and Beans
Stir in the smoked sausage, soaked black beans (drained), bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Add enough water to cover the ingredients by about an inch.

Simmer
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for about 2 to 3 hours, or until the beans and meats are tender.

Serve
Remove the bay leaves before serving. Serve the feijoada over rice with fresh orange slices, farofa, collard greens, and pork cracklings.
