Wonton Filling

Method

Wonton Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Filling

In a large bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, finely chopped green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Fill the Wontons

Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper over to form a triangle, and press the edges to seal. You can also bring the two corners together to form a purse shape. Repeat until all filling is used.

Soup Broth Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic, sliced ginger, and soy sauce. Reduce heat to medium and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Bok Choy

Once the broth has simmered, add the halved baby bok choy and let it cook for an additional 5 minutes until the bok choy is tender.

  3. 5

    Season the Broth

Taste the broth and add salt and white pepper as needed.

Cooking Wontons

  1. 6

    Cook the Wontons

Gently drop the prepared wontons into the simmering broth. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the wontons float to the top and are cooked through.

  2. 7

    Serve the Soup

Ladle the wontons and broth into bowls. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
