Method

Preparation of Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Pork

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground pork. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Add the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, green onions, garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Stir well and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until vegetables are slightly softened.

  3. 3

    Season the Filling

Pour in soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Assembling the Egg Rolls

  1. 4

    Prepare the Wrapper

Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the pork filling in the center of the wrapper.

  2. 5

    Roll and Seal

Fold the corner closest to you over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll away from you to form a tight roll. Moisten the edges with water to seal the wrapper.

  3. 6

    Repeat

Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling until all are filled and sealed.

Frying

  1. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 8

    Fry the Egg Rolls

Carefully lower a few egg rolls into the hot oil, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.

  3. 9

    Drain and Serve

Using a slotted spoon, remove the egg rolls from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with dipping sauce of your choice.
