Method
Dumpling Dough Preparation
- 1
Mix the Dough Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing with your hands until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- 3
Rest the Dough
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
Filling Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, chopped green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
Assemble and Cook Dumplings
- 5
Roll out the Dough
After the dough has rested, divide it into small pieces and roll each piece into a thin circle (about 3 inches in diameter).
- 6
Fill the Dumplings
Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges tightly to seal.
- 7
Cook the Dumplings
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they float to the surface. Remove with a slotted spoon.
