Banana Bread
Maple-Cinnamon Butter
Method
Banana Bread
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- 2
Mash the Bananas
In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
- 3
Mix in Sugar and Butter
Melt the stick of unsalted butter and add it to the mashed bananas along with the granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Crack the eggs into the mixture and add the vanilla extract. Stir until fully incorporated.
- 5
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
- 6
Blend Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 7
Fold in Walnuts
Fold in the chopped walnuts gently into the batter.
- 8
Bake the Bread
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 9
Cool
Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Maple-Cinnamon Butter
- 10
Prepare the Butter
In a medium bowl, soften the unsalted butter until creamy. You can do this by letting it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes or by briefly microwaving it (10 seconds at a time).
- 11
Mix in Maple and Cinnamon
Add the maple syrup and ground cinnamon to the softened butter. Mix until fully combined and smooth.
- 12
Serve
Transfer the maple-cinnamon butter to a small serving dish and serve alongside the banana bread.
