Cooking Instructions
Boil the Eggs
Place 4 large eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
Peel the Eggs
Gently tap the eggs on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel them under running water for easier removal.
Prepare Sausage Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine 500 grams of pork sausage meat with 1 tsp of salt, 0.5 tsp of black pepper, and 0.25 tsp of ground nutmeg. Mix well until fully combined.
Wrap the Eggs
Take a portion of the sausage mixture and flatten it in your hand. Encase a peeled egg completely with the sausage, ensuring there are no gaps.
Coat the Eggs
Roll the sausage-wrapped eggs in 50 grams of all-purpose flour, ensuring they are fully coated. Then dip them in a beaten egg (optional) and roll them in 100 grams of breadcrumbs for a crispy outer layer.
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat 1 liter of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
Fry the Scotch Eggs
Carefully lower the coated eggs into the hot oil and fry for about 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Turn occasionally for even cooking.
Drain and Serve
Once cooked, remove the eggs from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
