Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin fries, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 4

    Dry the Fries

After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

  3. 5

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the dried fries with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

  4. 6

    Bake the Fries

Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Once baked, remove the fries from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the fries.
