Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption and tenderness.
- 2
Make the Dry Rub
In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Apply the Rub
Generously coat both sides of the ribs with the dry rub mixture. Wrap the ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Cooking
- 4
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- 5
Prepare the Ribs for Baking
Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil.
- 6
Bake the Ribs
Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until they are tender.
- 7
Make the BBQ Sauce
While the ribs are baking, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a saucepan. Stir and cook over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

- 9
Finish Cooking
Increase oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and return the ribs to the oven. Bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, basting with more BBQ sauce halfway through.
Serving

Slice and Serve
Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for about 10 minutes, then slice between the bones. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
