Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, salt, black pepper, and balsamic vinegar. Whisk together until well blended.

2

Marinate the Tenderloin

Place the beef tenderloin in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Cooking

3

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

4

Sear the Tenderloin

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Once melted and bubbling, remove the tenderloin from the marinade (allow excess marinade to drip off) and sear it in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until browned.

5

Roast the Tenderloin

Transfer the seared tenderloin to a baking dish and pour the beef broth into the bottom of the dish. Place it in the preheated oven and roast for about 20-25 minutes (or until it reaches your desired level of doneness, 135°F for medium-rare).

6

Rest the Meat

Remove the tenderloin from the oven and cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps redistribute the juices.

7

Serve

Slice the tenderloin into medallions and serve with the pan juices drizzled on top.
