Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool slightly. If desired, mix in 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur for added flavor.
- 2
Whip the Heavy Cream
In a mixing bowl, pour in 1 cup of heavy cream. Using an electric mixer, whip the cream until soft peaks form.
- 3
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a separate bowl, combine 16 oz of mascarpone cheese, 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix gently until smooth.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined, taking care not to deflate the whipped cream.
- 5
Soak the Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso mixture for about 2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 6
Layer the Tiramisu
In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 7
Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
