Preparation
1. Juicing the Lemons
Cut the fresh lemons in half and use a citrus juicer or reamer to extract the juice. Make sure to remove any seeds from the juice.
2. Mixing Sugar and Water
In a large pitcher, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 2 cups of warm water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
3. Combining Ingredients
Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 6 lemons) to the pitcher. Then, pour in 2 additional cups of cold water. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
4. Chilling and Serving
If using, add the fresh mint leaves and ice cubes to the pitcher for a chilled and refreshing effect. Serve in glasses over additional ice if desired.
