Preparation
Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash the heirloom cherry tomatoes thoroughly under cold running water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. Slice the tomatoes in half and place them in a mixing bowl.
Season the Tomatoes
Add sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper to the halved tomatoes. Toss gently to coat the tomatoes evenly with the seasoning. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld while preparing the burrata.
Plate the Burrata
Carefully remove the burrata cheese from its packaging. Place it in the center of a serving platter or individual serving plates. Use a sharp knife to cut a small slit in the burrata to allow it to ooze slightly.
Add Tomatoes and Basil
Arrange the seasoned cherry tomatoes around the burrata on the platter. Tear fresh basil leaves and scatter them over the tomatoes and cheese for added flavor and color.
Drizzle with Olive Oil
Using a spoon, drizzle extra virgin olive oil generously over the burrata, tomatoes, and basil for a rich and luxurious finish.
Serve
Serve immediately as a refreshing starter. Encourage guests to scoop some burrata with the tomatoes and basil for the best flavor experience.
