Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Melt the Chocolate

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Batter

In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.

  3. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, folding gently until no lumps remain.

  4. 4

    Bake the Bombs

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin and pour the batter evenly into the cups, filling them about 3/4 full. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.

  5. 5

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a plate. Serve warm, garnished with chocolate shavings.
