Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the New York strip steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, place the steak in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

  3. 3

    Toast the Bread

In the same skillet, add the French bread slices and toast them for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place the sliced steak on one slice of toasted French bread, and top with the other slice. Serve open-faced with your choice of two sides: rice, beans, fries, potato salad, or coleslaw.
