Cook the Beef
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Brown the Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 7-10 minutes.

Add the Beans and Chiles
Stir in the canned black beans (drained and rinsed), diced tomatoes (with juices), and canned green chiles. Mix well.

Season the Mixture
Add cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
