Ingredients for Chinese BBQ Pork

Method

Directions for Chinese BBQ Pork and Pickles

  1. 1

    Marinate the Pork

In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, five-spice powder, garlic, and ginger. Add the pork shoulder, ensuring it's well coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the marinated pork shoulder in a roasting pan and cover with foil. Roast for about 3 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shredded. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Pickles

In a bowl, combine cucumber, carrots, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Mix well and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to pickle.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Wraps

Shred the cooked pork and serve it with lettuce leaves and pickles on the side. Fill lettuce leaves with pork and add pickles as desired.
