Salmon Preparation

Season the Salmon
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Rub the mixture evenly over the salmon fillets.

Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Sear the Salmon
Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the skin is crispy. Carefully flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
Caramelized Orange Fennel Sauce Preparation

Sauté the Fennel
In the same skillet used for the salmon, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced fennel and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until softened and lightly caramelized.

Add Orange Juice and Honey
Pour in the orange juice and add the honey. Stir well and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.

Season the Sauce
Add the orange zest, salt, and black pepper to the sauce. Stir to combine and cook for an additional minute.
Plating

Serve the Dish
Place the seared salmon fillets on plates and drizzle the caramelized orange fennel sauce over the top. Serve immediately.
