Method
Cook the Orzo

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

Cook Orzo
Add the orzo pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.

Drain Orzo
Once cooked, drain the orzo and set it aside.
Make the Cheese Sauce

Make Roux
Whisk in the all-purpose flour and cook for about 1 minute until bubbly.

Add Milk
Slowly whisk in the milk, continuing to whisk until the mixture is smooth and thickens, about 3-5 minutes.

Add Cheeses
Stir in the mascarpone cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined.

Season Sauce
Season the sauce with salt and black pepper, stirring to combine.
Combine and Bake

Mix Orzo and Peas
Add the drained orzo and sweet peas to the cheese sauce, stirring until well coated.

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Transfer to Dish
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it evenly.

Prepare Topping
In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese together, then sprinkle evenly over the top of the orzo mixture.
