Marinade and Steak

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, soy sauce, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 6-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest and Slice

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes. Slice it against the grain into thin strips.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the sliced carne asada with warm tortillas, topped with fresh cilantro and avocado slices.
