Method
Preparing the Prawns
- 1
Clean the Prawns
Start by rinsing the jumbo prawns under cold water to remove any debris. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Boil the Prawns
Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the prawns and cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque.
- 3
Shock the Prawns
Immediately transfer the cooked prawns to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for about 5 minutes.
- 4
Peel and Devein
Once chilled, peel the prawns, leaving the tails intact for presentation. Devein them if not already done.
Making the Cocktail Sauce
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Mix well until all ingredients are fully integrated.
- 6
Taste and Adjust
Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust the hot sauce according to your preference for spice.
Serving
- 7
Plate the Prawns
Arrange the peeled jumbo prawns on a serving platter, curling them slightly for an appealing presentation.
- 8
Add the Sauce
Serve the cocktail sauce in a small bowl alongside the platter of prawns.
- 9
Garnish
Garnish the platter with lemon wedges and fresh parsley for an elegant look.
