Mushrooms

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean and Slice the Mushrooms

Rinse the fresh mushrooms under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a paper towel. Slice the mushrooms into even slices, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel the garlic cloves and mince them finely using a knife or garlic press.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Garnish

Chop the fresh parsley finely and set aside for garnish.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Melt the Butter

In a large skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat until it is fully melted and begins to foam.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant but not browned.

  3. 6

    Add the Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Stir them well to coat in the butter and garlic mixture.

  4. 7

    Season the Mushrooms

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper over the mushrooms. Stir to combine.

  5. 8

    Add the Cooking Sherry

Pour 1 cup of cooking sherry into the skillet with the mushrooms. Stir well and allow it to simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and the liquid has reduced slightly.

  6. 9

    Final Touches

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the chopped parsley over the sautéed mushrooms for garnish.
