Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Breading
In a shallow bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
- 2
Coat the Seafood
Dip shrimp, calamari, and fish fillets into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Seafood
Carefully add coated seafood to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes for shrimp and calamari, and 5-6 minutes for fish. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Prepare the French Fries
While the seafood is frying, cook the french fries according to package instructions or fry them separately until golden and crispy.
- 6
Serve
Plate the fried seafood alongside the french fries. Serve with lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side.
