Method

Turkey Preparation

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. 2

Rub the whole turkey with olive oil, ensuring it is well coated.

  3. 3

Season the turkey inside and out with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme.

  4. 4

Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover it loosely with aluminum foil.

  5. 5

Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for about 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  6. 6

Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before pulling the meat apart.

Coleslaw Preparation

  1. 7

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and shredded carrots.

  2. 8

In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 9

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, mixing well until the vegetables are evenly coated.

  4. 10

Cover and refrigerate the coleslaw for at least 1 hour before serving.

Assembly

  1. 11

Once the turkey has rested and been pulled apart, layer a generous portion of pulled turkey on a serving plate.

  2. 12

Top the turkey with coleslaw, followed by a slice of provolone cheese.

  3. 13

Drizzle Russian dressing over the cheese and add a dollop of mayonnaise on top.

  4. 14

Serve immediately and enjoy your Cole Turkey!
