Method
For the Burger
Prepare the Burger Patties
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to overwork the meat.
Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.
Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
For the Cajun Fries
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut each potato into thin strips to make fries.
Season the Fries
In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
Bake the Fries
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Serve the Fries
Remove the fries from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve alongside the burgers.
