Method
Prepare the Fries
- 1
Bake the Fries
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the frozen French fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Drizzle with vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Bake according to package instructions, typically for about 20-25 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
Prepare the Steak Topping
- 2
Cook the Steak
While the fries are baking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper. Once the oil is hot, add the steak to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.

Assemble the Cheesesteak Fries
- 4
Combine and Serve
Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven and layer the sliced steak, sautéed onions, and mushrooms on top of the fries. Evenly sprinkle the shredded white American cheese over the top. Place back in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
