Brownie Layer
- 1
Prepare the Brownie Base
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- 2
Melt Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in 1.5 cups of granulated sugar and 0.5 cups of brown sugar until well combined.
- 3
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add 3 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
- 4
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 0.5 cups of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 0.5 tsp of salt.
- 5
Mix Brownie Batter
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
- 6
Bake Brownie Layer
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
