Method

Preparing the Burger

  1. 1

    Make the Burger Patties

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and let drain on paper towels.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high. Add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, hot sauce, and Dijon mustard until well combined.

  2. 7

    Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns in the skillet or on a grill until golden brown.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Burger

Spread the sauce on the bottom half of the bun. Add lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles. Place the burger patty with melted cheese on top, followed by two slices of crispy bacon. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
