Serving Ingredients

Method

Falafel Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas thoroughly. Place them in a food processor.

  2. 2

    Blend Ingredients

Add chopped parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, black pepper, baking powder, and flour to the food processor with the chickpeas. Pulse until the mixture is coarse but holds together when formed into a ball.

  3. 3

    Chill the Mixture

Transfer the mixture to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help firm it up.

Cooking Falafel

  1. 4

    Form Balls

Once chilled, take small portions of the mixture and form them into balls or patties.

  2. 5

    Heat Oil

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (around 350°F or 175°C).

  3. 6

    Fry Falafel

Carefully place the formed falafel into the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 7

    Drain Excess Oil

Using a slotted spoon, remove the falafel and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 8

    Prepare Serving Plate

On a serving platter, arrange the pita bread, hummus, diced tomatoes, diced cucumber, shredded lettuce, and tahini sauce.

  2. 9

    Serve Falafel

Serve the crispy falafel warm alongside the prepared platter, allowing guests to build their own wraps with the ingredients.
