Biscuit Ingredients
Method
Biscuit Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk until well blended.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Cut the cold unsalted butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your hands, mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Milk
Pour in the milk and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 5
Shape the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle.
- 6
Cut the Biscuits
Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits from the dough. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each biscuit.
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
- 8
Serve
Remove the biscuits from the oven, let them cool slightly, and serve warm with butter or your favorite jam.
